Diving Shop ABARO

ABARO is a PADI dive centre in Shimizu, Shizuoka, about one hour from Mount Fuji and roughly an hour by shinkansen from Tokyo. We run courses and guided tours on the Izu Peninsula all year round.

We are a small shop, so groups stay small. Solo travellers join almost every tour and are genuinely welcome.

What we offer

Try scuba diving

A 40-minute dive with an instructor beside you the whole time. No licence and no experience needed. Everything is included for ¥12,650.

PADI certification courses

Open Water through Divemaster. Course fees include tuition, sea training, rental gear, certification and materials, with no add-ons at the end. See the courses →

Guided day tours

More than thirty dive sites across the Izu Peninsula, plus Chiba, Kanagawa and trips further afield. Guiding, facility fees, tanks, insurance and lunch are all in the price. See tour prices →

Good to know

Language	Our guiding is mainly in Japanese. Staff can handle straightforward English, and we are used to diving with visitors from overseas. Please tell us in advance so we can prepare.
Getting here	Shimizu, Shizuoka. Free pick-up from Shimizu, Numazu and Mishima.
Opening hours	11:00–20:00, closed Tuesdays.
